About David

I was raised in Indiana, attended Depauw University and the Indiana School of Medicine. After completing his Orthopedic Surgery Residency, he completed a Fellowship in Hip and Knee Replacement at Joint Implant Surgeons in Columbus, Ohio. I was the Director of the Total Joint Program at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, and the OrthoIndy Hospital until 2019.

While in practice, I specialized in hip and knee reconstructive surgery, performing clinical research, lecturing nationally and around the world. I also published numerous articles and book chapters and was a surgeon designer for multiple hip and knee implant systems. During my practice, I focused on patient safety, efficiency in the operating room, and cost containment for the health care system.

Dr Fisher retired from surgical practice in January of 2020 and is enjoying an active retirement between Indianapolis and Southwest Florida. He enjoys golf, tennis, pickleball, and other activities, as well as spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
